Daniel Beard Receives CGFM Credential

CPAs & Advisors

Yeo & Yeo, a leading Michigan accounting and advisory firm, is pleased to announce that Daniel Beard, CPA, has earned the Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) credential from the Association of Government Accountants.

The CGFM designation is awarded to professionals who demonstrate specialized expertise in governmental accounting, auditing, financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting. The credential reflects a deep understanding of the unique financial, regulatory, and operational challenges faced by public sector organizations.

Beard is a Senior Manager based in Yeo & Yeo’s Ann Arbor office and a member of the firm’s Government Services Group. Since joining the firm in 2014, he has built a career helping state and local governments, nonprofit organizations, and businesses navigate complex audit and compliance requirements. He specializes in audits conducted under Government Auditing Standards, including Single Audits performed in accordance with the Uniform Guidance.

Throughout his career, Beard has been drawn to the meaningful role government organizations play in their communities. His work focuses on helping public sector leaders strengthen accountability, maintain compliance, and make informed financial decisions that support the constituents they serve.

“Our government clients value advisors who not only understand technical requirements but also appreciate the real-world impact of the decisions they make every day,” said Jamie Rivette, CPA, CGFM, Assurance Service Line Leader. “Daniel brings that perspective to every engagement. His CGFM designation further strengthens the insight and specialized guidance he provides to the organizations we serve.”

A graduate of Eastern Michigan University, Beard holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the Michigan Government Finance Officers Association. Beyond his professional responsibilities, he is a graduate of the A2Y Leadership program and serves as the board treasurer for the Foundations Preschool of Washtenaw County.

Beard joins a distinguished group of CGFM credential holders at Yeo & Yeo, adding to the firm’s specialized expertise and experience serving governmental entities.

“What I enjoy most about working with government clients is knowing the work matters beyond the numbers,” Beard said. “These organizations are responsible for the services people count on every day. Earning the CGFM was a way to deepen my understanding of their world so I can be a better resource for them.”
