David W. Schaeffer, CPA/ABV, CFF


David W. Schaeffer is a Principal in the Saginaw office and leads the firm's Legacy Consulting program. He also leads the firm's Valuation and Litigation Services Group and is a member of the Manufacturing Services Group. He joined Yeo & Yeo in 1982 and served as the Managing Principal of the Saginaw office from 2005 through 2018.


  • Through the YeoConsults Legacy Program, provides guidance for business owners to ensure long-term value and continuity in their businesses. Business valuation, succession planning and tax planning help owners build a solid foundation to retire, exit, or otherwise transition away from the business when the time is right.
  • Small Business Consulting for management, financial reporting and tax issues with strong emphasis in the manufacturing, construction and healthcare.
  • Accredited in business valuation for all industries, certified in financial forensics, and is often called upon as an expert witness. Additional expertise in litigation support, succession planning, business plans and start-ups.
  • Management studies including job costing, pricing models, organizational structure and team meetings and reports.
  • Mergers and acquisitions for all types of businesses, exit strategies, ownership transfers and maximizing value in privately held businesses.
  • Due diligence studies, quality of earnings reports, and merger negotiations.
